CAD software enables engineers and architects to design, inspect and manage engineering projects within an integrated graphical user interface (GUI) on a personal computer system. Most applications support solid modelling with boundary representation (B-Rep), CSG and NURBS geometry, and enable the same to be published in a variety of formats.

Various software neutral formats such as STP, STL, IGES can also be obtained from the available solid models enabling us in creating an integrated environment for 3D printing.

Computer-aided engineering (CAE) is the broad usage of computer software to aid in engineering analysis tasks. It includes finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), multibody dynamics (MBD), durability and optimization.  CAE tools are being used, for example, to analyse the robustness and performance of components and assemblies. The term encompasses simulation, validation, and optimisation of products and manufacturing tools.
